Things to Avoid

THINGS TO AVOID WHILE ON THE PROGRAM

1. Not consuming enough fat during the first two days of the program. This may cause hunger and crankiness during the first week of the program.

2. Not following strictly the 500 calorie diet. Even slight deviations can interrupt or stall weight loss success.

3. Gum, mints, or lozenges during the diet.

4. Diet drinks or products such as: low-fat, low sugar, or “lite”.

5. Refined foods, hydrogenated oils, soda pops.

6. Fast foods and avoid restaurants.

7. Alcoholic beverages.

8. Medicines not approved by physician.

9. Body products containing propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate, or mineral oil.

10. Mixing vegetables during meal.

11. Commercial corn-fed beef. American beef tends to have higher fat content. Veal is an acceptable alternative or grass-fed organic beef.

12. Not drinking enough water. 2 quarts a day are recommended.

14. Fat, starches, and sugars. Read labels–many ingredient names can be confusing. For example, sugars and sweeteners can be listed by as many as 50 different names, ie., maltodextrin, diatase, dextrose, etc.

15. Be careful with seasonings. Check labels for non approved ingredients.
