Update: 1 month later… weight 219
Well, I’ve been off the HCG for about 1 month. So, what happened? Well, after starting to eat more oils and fats (Not cheeseburgers and fries, but Flax seed, Protein Shakes, and Avocados); I noticed a 5 pound jump in my weight to 219. However, I have stabilized at that weight and I actually continue to lose inches on my waist. I purchased new jeans as a reward for successfully finishing the 40 day diet and they are definitely larger than before… almost too big!!!
Some of the foods that I added back to my diet were Avocados, Almonds, flax seed, Bananas, eggs, cottage cheese, and yogurt… Oh yes… protein bars and protein shakes. I’m finding my taste for greasy foods hasn’t returned and I crave fresh fruits and vegetables. I did have a hamburger and french fries. I’m not going to lie, I really enjoyed it. The hamburger was from a boutique shop (not McDonald’s) and It was a once in a while thing. However, that night I was really craving a salad and realized that my body was telling me that it’s Ok to eat “crazy” for one meal, but my body had gotten used to running on clean pure foods… it just doesn’t want to go back
I continue to plan my meals. I starve if I don’t! I struggle with my exercising still (that hasn’t changed since the dietJ). I’m spoiled and I like to go to a gym, but with my job change and all that craziness, I had to wait. I know I should walk or something, but I honestly don’t like being outside when the weather is bad and I live in Seattle… so… you get the picture.
Also, I am using an online calorie counter. I really like it…really! It’s free and found on Lance Armstrong’s website (www.livestrong.com). It is called the Daily Plate. I find that as I am keeping track of the foods that I eat. I am more mindful of what I’m eating. I know that I’m an emotional eater and with my job change I probably could eat an entire pizza and not notice until it’s gone. However, I am always making notes in my mind. “Ok what brand of pizza was that? What were the toppings? And how many slices?” I find myself having more control and making conscious eating decisions when I am logging it. Also the website has almost every brand of Food, restaurant, or whatever is edible already programmed into their system. All I have to do is search the item and “viola!” I know that the slice of Papa Murphy’s Pizza had twice as many calories as a chicken breast with a can of black beans. SO… I then can make an educated decision. I may still have the pizza, but I DECIDED to eat it. Mindful eating is my goal.
I will probably do another round of HCG in a few months… I want to see how well the weight stays off. I’m really pleased with my results so far. I really panicked when the first 5 pounds came back on, BUT only those 5 pounds has returned. I’m pleased with the results and I’ll post again to keep everyone updated. Good luck all those who are undergoing the HCG… it’s been my experience that it is worth it!
